Joshua Oronigbagbe examines women, romance, aspirations of love, humanity’s penchant for good time and pleasure, global warming, and a host of other human interest topics in this, his Collection of Poetry.
In “In Love with a Police Girl,” Joshua describes the strange side of passion as he’d had it with—of all people, and places—a police officer while driving along a highway one day.
Joshua surprises us as he swings out from an amorous mood to a more somber tone in “The End” where he ruminates on the perilous activities of humanity, and the end-of-world scenarios that we may all be unwittingly playing with.
With its shifting moods and diversity of topics covered, this Collection of Poetry should fill in good hours of treading through those most dreadful moments of our days.

Again, I'm not the expert poet or critic, but really I didn't have a spark with this one. Oronigbagbe has a great range of vocabulary, but he was too repetitive for me. Many poems that are present have the constant use of repetition and I found it somewhat distracting. I went from looking for great verses to seeing how many times that I could find him repeating words for instance, "the daughter of Aphrodite" That seemed to be his favorite way to describe a woman, again repetitive. His topics of some poems are interesting, in "Waiting for Penelope" is loved his "Segregation, sectionalism, These are hopeless facets, Of human existence, The very antithesis of hope." But, don't let my ranting stop you, Oronigbagbe is a very intelligent man based on his wording in this book, I would just prefer a different style from his.As always, thank you for the Dorrance Book Publishing Company for my complimentary copy of "Collection of Poetry" by Joshua O.
