Not the way he wanted things to go. He is determined to be a part in his son's life and tries to convince Jill to allow him to help her. For someone who was a comfirmed bachelor, he is trying to become a responsible father, if only Jill would let him. This is a very sweet story that I enjoyed. I look forward to reading more of Theresa Ragan's books

This story had a great hook and I really wanted to like it. Derrick sold his sperm when in college to a firm called Cryocorp. When he was drafted to the NFL, he returned the money and asked them to destroy it. He came from a large family and did not want to have children he did not know about out there. He received a letter telling him they used the sperm and he hires PI's to find the woman. Jill was stood up at her big wedding by the man her parents picked out. She moves across the country from her wealthy parents and tries to start another chapter of the food magazine she created in her new home. She also decides to have a baby, something she has always wanted. Guess whose sperm she gets?

Derrick ends up aproaching Jill and her friend in a park and almost got arrested and Jill goes into labor and the press finds out. Sounds like a great story, but it does not really work. Jill is a doormat and not a very interesting person. Derrick is convinced until almost the end of the book he is really in love with his sister-in-law Maggie. They had all made a pact not to marry her, because they were all in love with her and Derrick seems to be the only one who took it seriously and felt betrayed. Derrick quickly blows any sympathy you might have for his situation, Jill never loses doormat status and there is absolutely no chemistry between Jill and Derrick. They have no common ground except the baby they both love and any marriage between them would be shallow which might work because neither character has any depth.

I really wanted to like this book but I don't.
I loved, loved, loved this book. Needing money and desperate, Derrick donates some of his sperm for money but later gives the money back with a letter that he doesn't want his sperm used and wishes it was destroyed knowing that he could never live life knowing that he had a child out in the world. Later, he gets a letter stating that a recipient has chose his sperm. Of course, he needs to find this women so he could know for sure if he does have a child on the way. He does end up finding Jill and within minutes of meeting she goes into labor.

It's not easy to find a book that you can't find a flaw. With Jill and Derrick, I loved their personalities and their faults, they clicked so well and I never ha the urge to scream at the book because one was being stupid or didn't do what I wanted them to do or one say the wrong thing. Derrick has a big loving family (I want to say he has seven brothers and two sisters but don't quote me on that) amd you can't help but love them all, especially when all the brothers are together and messing and picking on each other. It's amazing that one mistake can bring so many people together and bring in so much love.

This was a great book that I would recommend to anyone and I can't wait to read more of Mrs. Ragan's books!!!
Wow, Teresa Ragan, is an exceptionally talented author. Her characters have so much depth and lovability. The story is quite engrossing. It's so good, I couldn't put it down. It looks to be book 1 of 4 at this time but the lead male in Having My Baby has 9 brothers and sisters so I imagine there will be at least 10 total and that is way more than ok for me!

Derrick discovers that someone has used the sperm that he had sold to a sperm bank, even though he had requested that it be destroyed, and he was fixing to become a father. He had no plans of settling down any time soon but this changed everything for him. He couldn't let his child grow up thinking his/her father didn't want them.

When he tracks her down, she is so shocked that she goes into labor. Being there for the birth of his son is life changing for Derrick. He wants to spend time with his son, Ryan and Ryan's mom, Jill.

Jill's not to sure she wants Derrick around and resists him every step of the way, but he doesn't give up easily. He works very hard to show Jill that it would be a good thing to have him in her and Ryan's lives.

But what happens if feelings grow between Derrick and Jill and not just about how to care for and raise Ryan?
