This was an old lovers reunite romance with a few secrets thrown between the hero and heroine. The writing was very professional and polished, no glaring typos or misspellings. Thanks for that. On to the characters, I really liked Olivia at the start, Mitch not so much ever. I always like plucky heroines that pull it together to get on with their lives. Worked at first, but a roll in bed for the tired excuse of "old times sake" kind of took the shininess off her character. Mitch came off to me as a selfish slime ball all dressed up with plausible excuses for all his actions. Many long winded plot twists ensued, they are together, no they're not, they love each other, but oh can't forgive the other for whatever convoluted reason. Exes throw a few monkey wrenches in the very contrived, kind of unbelievable romance all leading up to the "Big Misunderstanding". It all wraps up in a textbook HEA.

I am a romance junkie. I have read them all. I am familiar with all the different plot twists and turns, and can cringe at a few that are stereotypical. But, I still come back for more, always looking for the one that is different, the one that makes me sigh and feel along with the characters. I can forgive a few contrived plots if I can feel with the characters. That never happened with this book. The writer seems experienced with a plethora of books enjoyed by many, but this one fell flat many times over.

I just recently started reading books by this author, and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. This one is my favorite.
The story centers around Olivia Montgomery and Mitch Landry. They were very much in love but Mitch, being older than Olivia and not ready to settle, left her 6 years ago so she could date others. Shortly after, his brother dies leaving a pregnant girlfriend, and Mitch feels it’s his duty to marry Joanna. Not knowing that Olivia was pregnant.
When they see each other six years later, the chemistry is immediate, neither is married, but Olivia has secrets .
There is lots of drama, misunderstanding, jealousy , hurt and issues of trust. Will they get a second chance or will doubts, half truths, and outside influences destroy that chance?
A well written and engaging story with complex characters that will keep you reading till late at night.
Can’t wait to see what else the author has in store in book two of this series.
Texas Two Step (Whispering Springs, TX Book 1) by Cynthia D'Alba reminds us that hind sight is 20-20. In Mitch Landry’s case, he plans to find a way to undo his number one mistake. Of course, he starts on that very project the moment he sees Olivia Montgomery again. There are problems and secrets, along with regrets and hurts.

The writing draws you in from the beginning. Olivia is the kind of character that I love. She is a resilient, problem-solving, positive, strong personality. No wonder Mitch fell for her when he was younger. Now Mitch took some time to warm up to. At first, I didn’t think he deserved a second chance with Olivia. Still the well done dual POVs helped me to see his side. The supporting characters are also wonderful, especially Adam. Outside problems and the secret threatened any chance these two have, which made for a page turner.

Great first book with now a prequel available that recently was free. Don’t know if it still is, but worth checking out.

Former lovers meet, one with a big secret. Sex, sex and more sex. For a first book I suppose this is okay--the author knows her way around the English language--but I strongly recommend that in the future she avoid trite plots and an overdependence on sex as a way to move the story along.
One of my favorite authors! She puts some fun and laughs into every story and then tops it off with some hot and steamy scenes that I love! The storyline isn’t original but it certainly is told in a different way. Great writing and a way with words!

Mitch and Olivia have a history that goes back about 6 years. But then he married his dead brother’s wife to legitimize their child. Olivia was devastated but she moved on with her life and so did he. Now they are both divorced and she’s going to see him again at the wedding of a friend.

It should have been a wonderful day and an even better one night stand. But life never turns out the way we plan no matter how hard we try.

Just love the way this author tells the tale when you know the HEA is just around the corner, and then, maybe it’s a little farther around than you think! This series should be a good one!

If you love cowboy romances, then you need to add "Texas Two Step" to your reading list. This is a steamy second chance romance with a hot cowboy! Also, it is a story where two people realize that if they can't learn forgiveness for each they may miss out on true happiness.

Mitch and Olivia were an item until Mitch broke it off about six years ago. Both Mitch and Olivia had married someone else and now they are both divorced.

I really loved the author's writing style. She kept my attention from beginning to end. I couldn't put the book down. Magda, Mitch's housekeeper, was a favorite character of mine. Hopefully, we will get to read her story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and other books by Cynthia D'Alba.
